Our 3 star campsite is located at the gateway to the island of Noirmoutier, also known as the island of Mimosas. If the island is named after these fluffy flowers, it is because in winter (from January to February), these little yellow balls bloom in abundance. The artisanal cookie factory “Les Petits Cagniotes” even offers you mimosa marshmallows!
To get there, take the famous Gois passage. This road is submersible on high tide days, so beware! Ask about the schedule before you use it.
In case of high tide, the bridge of Noirmoutier will allow you to reach the island easily.
After this crossing, you are in the heart of Barbâtre and its forest of maritime pines. This small corner of the island offers beautiful walks in the heart of a preserved nature.
In Noirmoutier, the beautiful summer weather will allow you to enjoy superb fine sandy beaches. Here are a few not to be missed:
- the beach of Barbâtre and its dune cordon
- the beaches of La Guérinière, ideal for fishing on foot
- the magnificent Dames beach in the heart of the Bois de la Chaize
In La Guérinière, discover the authentic charm of the oyster port of Bonhome.
A little higher up, visit the commune of l’Épine. It is here that the salt workers harvest the salt. Explore the marshes and observe the skills of these outstanding workers. A visit not to be missed on the island.
