Excursion to the island of Yeu

For this experience, we propose you to take the sea towards the island of Yeu.

This wild-looking island is only accessible by sea or air. Less than two kilometers from the La Corsive campground, board a catamaran. You can walk or bike to the pier.
If you wish to go there by car, you should know that the parking on the Yeu Continent parking lot is free.
In high season, departures from Fromentine are regular. We advise you to leave early in the morning to be able to fully enjoy your day.
Pick up the catamaran at the start at 9:30 am. After a 30 minute crossing in the heart of the Atlantic with the ocean as far as the eye can see as a backdrop, you are on this island of undeniable charm.

Practical information: you can book your crossing in advance on the website: https: //www.yeu-continent.fr/. So no worries on the day of departure.

To discover this jewel of the Atlantic, nothing is better than a bicycle!

The tour of the island is 27.5 kilometers long. It is possible to cover the whole island in one day while taking breaks. There is no shortage of bike rental companies on site. But be prepared, many vacationers ride their bikes on the paths of the island of Yeu, so reserve your bikes in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises upon your arrival.
Don’t hesitate to bring an electric bike to enjoy your ride.

The circuit:

You will start your walk from Port-Joinville, the only marina on the island. After a few kilometers crisscrossing the most beautiful wild beaches of the island, you will arrive at the Pointe du But.
Here, you will have the impression of being at the end of the world. Take a break to admire this breathtaking landscape. Take time to enjoy this moment and the soft breeze on your face.
It’s time to take the coastal path again. During your walk, you will discover the different aspects of the coastline of the island, sometimes sandy coast and sometimes rocky coast.
After a few pedal strokes, you will see the Old Castle. This fortress dating from the Hundred Years War is spectacular. It was built on a rocky point, which is what makes it so special.

After a well-deserved break, it will take some courage to get back on your bike.
At the Pointe des Corbeaux, you will have covered more than half of the trail.
On your way, the beaches will not stop passing by. Take advantage of this panorama of translucent waters and let yourself be tempted by a swim that is both rejuvenating and invigorating for your calves.

You are back in Port-Joinville. Throughout your journey, you will have noticed that this island, despite the influx of tourists, has kept all its authenticity.
